Ken founded OSLO Builders with partners and longtime colleagues Keith Olsen and Eric Lohmueller. He has been in the building industry for nearly 30 years, beginning his career in the carpentry trade. Ken started as a framing carpenter and later honed his craft as a finish millwork carpenter. He was always interested in the precision of the tools he was using and the manner in which he installed.

As Superintendent at Norcon, Inc. for 17 years, Ken acquired deep knowledge in construction and met his future partners, Eric and Keith. He established his reputation on complex and intricate projects, effectively managing schedule, quality and budget. Ken supervised the reopening of a school after summer break, the remodeling of an entire hotel during peak season and the construction of a private art gallery for an avid collector.

Ken strongly believes that projects can be well-executed only when the entire team has a common sense of purpose and a shared commitment to successful completion. This includes holding both the design team and ownership accountable when necessary and pushing the tradesmen to do their best work. He has worked with and established strong relationships with architects such as Krueck + Sexton, Von Weise Associates and Vinci Hamp Architects over the course of several projects.

Ken is a lifelong Chicagoan and lives on the South Side with his wife, Kelly, and their three children.
